Dance
Born in Brazil, Caxias do Sul - RS, Luciana studied at Escola do Teatro Guaira in Curitiba and at the Dance Center from the Escuela National de Cuba, in Porto Alegre under the direction of Niurka de Saá and Ramona de Saá.
She won several dance competitions including the International Dance Festival Joinville and International Dance Festival Bento Dance. In 1995 she won the Açorioanos Prize as “Dancer of the year” in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil.
She worked at the Cia de Dança Palácio das Artes Minas Gerais, Brazil, with distinguished Brazilian choreographers such as Tindaro Silvano and Luis Arrieta.
Luciana came to Europe in 1998 and worked for four years as soloist at Ballet des Salzburger Landestheater Austria. During her time in Salzburg, she was a guest artist in the “Malakhov 2000 Dance Gala”, where she shared stage with prestigious artists as Vladimir Malakov and Márcia Haydée. She also performed “La Femme” at Concert Hall in Stockholm and at Traumtänzer Project in Germany.
In Switzerland since 2004, she worked with the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève performing internationally in many countries namely North America, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, France, Finland, Brazil, and Reunion Island. During her 4 seasons in the company, she was delighted to work with world acclaimed choreographers such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Adonis Foniadakis, Cisco Aznar, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Carolyn Carlson, Saburo Teshigawara, Benjamin Millepied, Malou Airaudo among others.
As a freelance dancer Luciana collaborated with Olivier Py in his Opera production “Der Freischütz” in 2008 at Grand Théâtre de Genève and Cisco Aznar in both “Dido and Aeneas” 2010 at Opera de Lausanne and "Turandot" at Opera de Dijon in 2011.
She also performed at Tanzfaktor Interregio 2011, Antigel Festival 2012 and other festivals in Europe.
Luciana always explored other realms of the arts, creating a dialogue between dance, film, visual arts and choreography productions.
She has worked together with visual artist Alexandra Maure for “Between Tracks” in Manchester and with musician Charles Mugel for his dance video “Hyperlu” exhibited at Queen’s Elm Gallery in London.
Luciana also features in Saburo Teshigawara’s “Para-Dice” dance film for ARTE France and in Baris Dilavier’s “Air” for the Volksoper Vienna.
Since 2008 Luciana Reolon has been involved with all elements of Performing Arts - from concept, choreography, costume designer to production and direction of art events.
